Coaching Baseball is Sweet Tea’s Other Passion

“Cornhole and baseball have several commonalities – they both require mental toughness, consistency and the will to bounce back from failure.”’

That’s what Daryl “Sweet Tea” Bizier has to say about the two sports he loves the most. A baseball coach since the age of 17, Daryl’s love of baseball came long before he ever tossed a cornhole bag for the first time. His coaching career progressed from teaching young t-ballers the basics of the game to leading youth competitive/travel teams to national championship tournaments and high school teams competing in district championships. His coaching resume includes stints at Cedar Creek Christian and University Christian High Schools.

“I enjoy coaching because I'm a strong believer in team commitment and watching a group of young men and women play and work together towards a common goal,”said Daryl. ‘Competing in sports is also a valuable life lesson on overcoming failure and disappointment when you lose a big game. If you don’t have mental toughness and the commitment of your teammates, you can’t have success and reach your full potential.”

Daryl hopes that his coaching efforts will someday help produce future major league baseball players as well as national cornhole champions. “If and when that happens, I will feel very satisfied that I’ve made an important contribution in helping them fulfill their dreams,”said Daryl.
